I took two pieces of workout wear in to have some seams stitched up because I didn’t want to contribute them to the landfill prematurely. I was met with condescension and defensiveness “we have to eat” before I even got a price. One was a simple seam repair and it was quoted $25, which is a little steep, but I was willing to pay it. I’ve gone to him at least three times and every time has been way too expensive for an ok job. Some of my silk doesn’t look as good as it used to. Also very, very condescending.

Nobody does it better. NOBODY. “Uncle” Figo does all of my family’s tailoring for important milestone events and everyday wear, alike and has for 15 years. When it comes to dry cleaning, he makes *sure* that stain comes out, or it goes back in the pile. And he is about as personable and reasonable a shop owner as you’ll find. He is hilarious, keeps it light, but the humor is never at your expense. Went for dry cleaning and got laughed out when I questioned why it would take over two weeks for a few sweaters. Weird energy from the get go from the owner so I left. Went to Forest Cleaners in Lincoln square and they said it’d only take two days so…

Figo not only provides excellent dry cleaning results and service, he is a top rate tailor. He is a true pillar of our community. Over the years he has watched out for my children and befriended my family. All local businesses should be like his.
