You hear stories of the horrors of nursing facilities, but Devon House has made my family and me so comfortable every step of the way. There has yet to be a moment where we didn't know what was going on. My family member has progressively declined due to health, and I have not only been informed every step, but given options on how to care for them. The DevonHouse has met and exceeded all expectations. The staff is outstanding, Maria and Angela are the best in providing care, compassion and comfort with my parents, now only my father (my mom had recently passed) get back to living a quality life. When we first brought my mom to Devon House, it seemed like everything was going to be ok. But unfortunately my mom's condition got progressively worse as she was a resident there. On multiple occasions, I showed up to find her incoherent, collapsed in her wheelchair, and in poor condition. On the last day she was there, I found her collapsed, eyeglasses on the floor, unable to speak, body twitching. I went to find a nurse and was told she was "just tired." Devon House is a great value. My biggest concern is the lack of staff and slow response when my mom needs help, but I seem to hear that about most places. The facility is clean, and the administration is good. It has been great having a safe place for mom and the ability of the facility to take her to appointments. The nursing staff is also very helpful and they have kept a good eye on my mom when she is having problems.
This is an incredible organization, one sign of how good the services all the workers smile. The staff is very well trained, and they provide the utmost care.
