My first meeting with Dr. Charlton was brief and to the point. Let's get my tests done and figure out what is going on with my body. He was very thorough in the exam and checked answered all of my questions and concerns. Once my diagnosis was confirmed to be UCTD, I was put on a regimen and will be tested to see if the medication is working.
Very thorough and kind. The staff is so nice and professional! Dr Charlton is amazing. Other Dr's just wanted to give me more pills. He wanted to help get to the root of what was going on. Highly recommend and won't be going anywhere else!
I brought my mother to UPMC to see Dr. Devon Charlton on 01/14/2025 who diagnosed her with a gout attack. He ordered blood work for her, and we followed his instructions. We were never given any cost estimate, breakdown of what would be tested, or any information about whether insurance would cover the testing. Weeks later, we received a bill totaling $7,713, with $5,399.10 as the amount we are responsible for—completely out-of-pocket. Worst doctor I have ever seen — I would rate him 0 stars if I could. My Psoriatic Arthritis went untreated for 4 years while I was seeing Dr. Charlton. I spent 4 years absolutely MISERABLE because I was misdiagnosed by him. He instead diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. (I would also like to note that he came to this conclusion with absolutely NO IMAGING WHATSOEVER ON ANY OF MY JOINTS!! My new rheumatologist was shocked when she learned this and took a bunch of X-rays my very first visit.) ... read more
