The drive was had a lot of great sightings. The road is a little rough but well worth it. Great spot. Kids loved it. The history is fascinating. Didn’t get a chance to hike it but will next time. Great educational for fellow homeschoolers.
We visited over spring break in March. The gravel road leading up to the trails is a little rough for a car that isnt meant for that, so we parked halfway down the road and walked a mile to the trail. The round trip of the trail is 4.6 miles. It was a decent hike, not too challenging but definitely will get you sweating.
