Dr Despina Tavarides is very compassionate, professional and thorough. I see her in the Awatukee office and she makes sure all my questions are answered. She coordinates my care if I need to see a specialist. I feel very comfortable having her as my dr.
Dr. Herrea listens intently and gives wonderful advice as well as options as to what your options are or what she feels needs to be done. She's not afraid to send you to a specialist if needed (as she has done for me) and truly wants her patients to feel well. When first meeting her, she seemed a little rigid, (maybe shy?) however after talking with her and explaining my issue - she opened up and made me feel like I was comfortable and that I could trust her expertise.
I do not like going to the doctor & avoided it for years because of previous bad experiences. I was really nervous to go in for my first appointment & ended up being late. Dr. Herrera was able to re-arrange her schedule to get me in & spent over an hour with me the first visit. I've had nothing but great experiences with the office & Dr. Herrera. I feel like she's straight forward with options but ultimately leaves decisions in my hands so that I'm taking accountability for my health.
Dr Herrera really isn't the issue, it's the office. 95% of the time you can't get a person on the phone and must leave a message for a call back. Not to mention, you literally can NEVER get in the same day if you are sick, even when you call 1st thing in the morning. DONT EVER GO TO THIS OFFICE!
Terrible Doctor. She doesn't listen to the patient. Doesn't listen to the recommendations of other doctors. Doesn't do blood work. Doesn't follow up. Questions why you need refills on medications. I would avoid her like the plague!!!
This doctor seems too busy or simply doesn't care about responding promptly. Requesting a refill was a huge ordeal that left me in tremendous pain for over 24 hours. I called twice to check on the progress of getting my refill authorized and only got the standard response. No care, no compassion, no phone call back, nothing.
Takes her time. I never feel rushed. Explained all my options.
