I do not recommend Dr. Vail after losing my mare to colic nearly 2 years ago. Dr. Vail never checked my horse's vitals, did not carefully listen to my description of her symptoms,and senselessly prescribed copious amounts of Bute. After 6 days of Dr. Vail's reckless counsel and treatment, we transported my mare to Chino Valley Equine Hospital. Actually, have told many horse friends about this place. Best Vet for horses. Every experience I have had with them has been excellent. Great care, quick return of emergency calls. Available when needed.Can't say enough, and have used another vet and always go back to this one.
I had to truck my horse down there from Yucca Valley one morning for colic. They had her for a week, saying that she had to have emergency surgery, 24 hour care, blah blah blah. One afternoon when I called to check on her, they said she was doing awesome and would be able to come home in a day or two. The next morning when I called to check on her, they said she had died the night before, because someone had let her out in the pasture to roll and she had hemorrhaged.
