I am a 77 year old male, who has lived in numerous places and thus has used numerous dermatologists. I strongly believe that Dr. Vanderplas is, by far, the best dermatologist I have ever used. Besides being an ultimate professional (e.g., highly knowledgeable, extremely thorough), she is a wonderfully kind and pleasant human being.
Dr. Vanderplas has been our dermatologist for over 9 years. She is a wonderful, fine, caring thorough physician. We feel so fortunate that she is our physician. She found a very early melanoma on my husband's face. He was referred to John Wayne Cancer Institute for surgery referral. Surgery was done and all margins are clean. We both feel blessed to have her as our dermatologist. She is truly a caring, superb physician. So happy we have her close to us.
In my opinion Dr Vanderplas needs to take some lessons in ethics and manners regarding appointments she breaks at the last minute. I have had the last three appointments with her cancelled the day of the appointment. I have lived in this desert for 40 years and have had the same doctors most of that time and have never run into a doctor who treat patients like Dr. Vanderplas. I will positively be looking for a new dermatologist.
