Terrible, Unorganized Bank! Terrible bank! They charged for all kinds of fees without letting us know. They charged us a return mail fee for 27 months. My wife was calling on a regular basis and NEVER once did they ask for a address or to even confirm an address. They say "It's your responsibility" in order to hide behind them taking money from your direct deposit.

Consistently Negative Experience – Deseret First Credit Union consistently mistreats its "members" and charges the same high fees that you'd expect from huge corporate banks. It has virtually none of the benefits of working with a credit union. After being a member for 15 years I am finally fed up and switching all of my finances over to my other bank because their service is inconsistent, their tellers are misinformed and their fraud department seems lazy. Unprofessional Credit Union I had a substantial loan with these people and all I can say is that it was the worst experience of my life. In trying to make a settlement with these people, and after losing my job, The gave me a number that they would except which was the principal, I made other arrangement to get the money to pay it off, They sent me a pay off formal document which was several thousands more than i was told. They are a joke... Don't Use Them for Anything !
The very best, they understand their members better!!! I have had many experiences with Deseret First. They are always professional and helpful. Once I made a mistake on my checking account and had to pay the fee to have the check covered. I happily paid the fee knowing that I had taken advantage of them, they could have bounced the check and my fees would have doubled (fee from the CU for bouncing the check and fee to the store). I went into the branch, not asking for the fee to be reversed, but with help in fixing MY mess.... read more
A place you can trust The clerks are always increadibly helpful. I can do all my banking online for free. I have never had to worry about anything. The people will always take the time to explain things to you and they will do all they can to make you feel as though you are their number one priority.
Strongly Suggest Caution I'll just relate my experience - you be the judge.
VERY HIGH RATE I can not believe they are charging $10 dollars whent I make a payment with a cedit card, when I I verely collectect the money for my last month payment I think this is an abuse and I feel like you are taking adventage of the the economy
A WARNING!!! Deseret First Credit Union are the BIGGEST bunch of idiots I have ever seen. Their tellers are not taught what to say or what to do for ANY situation. Each branch will tell you something different and nothing gets done. Fees are the only thing constant with this CU. If they deserve anything its for the entire organization to get shut down so those people can get a job somewhere else.
