Buccaneer Arena is a 3,250-seat multipurpose arena in Urbandale, Iowa, that is home to the Des Moines Buccaneers ice hockey team in the United States Hockey League. The arena opened in 1961. In 2007, it hosted the College Hockey America championship tournament. Buccaneer Arena also hosts Midwest Cage Championship mixed martial arts fights, concerts and benefit events. The arena has been nicknamed The Madhouse on Hickman.

Great arena to watch the buccaneers play
Good hockey team, can't wait to see the improvements that are coming down the pipe!

This place is terribly maintained. In the women’s bathroom, only two of the stalls had any toilet paper. The sinks barely work, so it’s just a trickle. The “turf” they put down for their indoor soccer games is coming up, and players literally trip over it. The scoreboard is so old and outdated that you can’t read it from one side. While parking is easy, that’s about the only perk I see from this place.
Building was opened in ‘61 and it shows! Signs of mold, smells like an old bowling alley. Concession was very small and didn’t take cash. Bathrooms remind me of an old elementary school. Has a very dark and damp vibe. Hard to believe this is the rink is in our state capitol. Ice was good though.
