Dr. DeRolf has cared for 4 of my dogs over a period of 18 years. He is the most knowledgeable, caring and sensitive vet I have ever experienced. Three of those 4 dogs lived long lives and now reside at the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. DeRolf has offered me caring, practical advice. He operated on my Aussie Shepherd this year. The surgery was a wonderful success. THERE ARE MANY REASONS HE IS CONSISTENTLY VOTED BEST VET IN SALEM! I have many Salem friends who will readily agree.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Horribly run office. Very unprofessional staff. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Office manager is incompetent and sent a bill with a threatening hand written note. I asked to pay full amount the same day and paid the amount they told me. 2 days later they call me and say I owe them $200 more. Vet care may be acceptable here but the office is horribly run and they will hit you with fees you didn't expect. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the headaches this place caused me.
Worst vet visit ever last week. They misspelled both my name and my cat's after asking, then they did the wrong lab work. I just called back this morning to schedule some dental work and they had no record I had ever been there despite last week's visit. Save yourself a lot of time and frustration: go somewhere competent.
Best Vet and Vet Staff in the area. In fact, we love them so much that even though we moved, we still drive over an hour to see them when necessary. They are not only extremely professional, but kind and caring as well. Dr. D, Dr. Metry and Dr. Smith all fully explain even the most complicated of issues in a clear manner so you can understand what is going on and can make informed decisions for your furkid. The staff are all fabulous too. I can't say enough good about them.
Dr. Metrey is incredible...always takes time to discuss & explain any little or big thing and is SO knowledgeable and caring. I used to avoid taking my cat to the vet because my sweet angel would turn into a monster, but now she doesn't even need sedation. I haven't had a lot of experience with Dr. DeRolf, but my husband and in-laws absolutely love him. So if you need a vet, go see them!
Thank you too all the staff for getting my cat Snookie well again.She is doing great and back to her old self.
We have been with Dr DeRolf for the better part of 26 years. We could never have asked for a better, loving and caring ally than him and his staff. His diagnostic skills are A-Number One!!!!!
If anyone is looking for an awesome vet who explains things well, then Dr. DeRolf is your guy. The helpful staff and clean environment put us at ease, allowing us to focus on giving extra smooches and pats.
