I have been to Dr Shelby’s office three times. Each time was extremely frustrating, the staff was rude, Dr Shelby only talked about herself and some European trip that she just took. She was rude to her staff and spent less than three minutes with me. The last time I made the Crazy decision to go back, they prescribed me a cream to put on my face and head, which I was fine with. This is a terrible office and I do not recommend it to anyone. This is, for some reason, the second Google Maps listing for "Distinctly Derm". I've gone to this doctor for 4 years now as I was unable to get into another dermatologist. The Doctor barely even looks at me during my skin checks and sure wasn't listening to what I said to her, she's been disrespectful to her staff in front of me, and the office visits are so insanely late I can't even explain it to you. I will never go back to this dermatology place again. Doctor and her nurse are very rude. My husband has hearing aids and doesn’t hear that well and I go with to all his appointments, but I can’t go with him here because we don’t have a medical POA for him. Very rude, we showed up when our appointment card said and were informed that they were fitting us in because we were late. I was looking for a dermatologist myself but I will die of skin cancer before I go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I booked with Distinctly Derm and Dr. Shelly before reading the reviews. I read them after and was a little concerned going as I was going for myself and my fiancé's 15 year old son. We did wait a little, but not long at all. When I went back the MA was great and when she brought in Dr. Shelly she was very pleasant and kind. Dr. Shelby really went above and beyond for my mom. She didn’t just diagnose the skin issue, she actually listened and worked with my mom every step of the way. Dr. Shelby made sure my mom felt comfortable with the treatments they tried, and that kind of care makes all the difference. My mom’s doing so much better now, we’re super grateful.
