The billing department for ProMedica Flower Hospital likes to drag their feet when it comes to refunding money to the patient. They are quick to make sure the patient has to pay money up front as a deposit for a procedure. Then after the insurance company pays ProMedica, the billing department acts very slowly to refund the over payment back to the patient. They owed me 2 refunds; $143.40 & $1,593.16. Dr Werning is an absolutely fantastic surgeon. He has been my ENT for years. When it was time to make a decision about having part of my Thyroid removed, Dr Werning discussed all of my options. I knew I was in excellent hands. He performed the surgery flawlessly! I would recommend this man to anyone! I can’t say enough! He was very compassionate and was very thorough. Thank you!

I highly suggest avoiding this office. We have been patients here for years. When you call to make an appointment, you have to have it okayed by the doctor before they schedule you. My daughter has been dealing with medical issues for months, they discharged her without having any follow-up care after her hospital stay. When I called to make the appointment, as the hospital advised us, I was told she didn't need to be seen because "her urine is clean." However, it had nothing to do with her urine. 8 hrs of incompetent service. After asking that a student not do my IV the nurse insisted and of course it didn't work. I have small veins. Then they got the ultrasound to do it and it blew as soon as she did it. So no IV. I went in for cauda equina syndrome and horrible pain. It took 4 and half hrs to even adress that. The nurses tried to help but the main dr. Treated and talked to me like I was stupid. I brought my elderly mother into Flower Hospital ER as she was having abdominal pain. When we arrived the staff quickly got to work on her and tests were ordered and completed in a timely manner. The problem started after they decided my mom needed to be transferred to Toledo Hospital. All care seemed to stop for my mom at that point. We were trapped by this ER for 16 hours before the transport to Toledo Hospital arrived. Dr. Bernsdorff is very good at what he does. I was extremely sick and he basically saved my life, in my opinion. He makes me feel very secure and I trust him. If you are in need of a great Dr. he is who I would recommend. Oh and I have to say I love all the staff, they are wonderful!!!!
The check in person was horrible. She was rude about procedures and acted like we should know what to do. She needs a refresher course on customer interaction. Sad because the doctors seem very good.
