I placed an order for a couple of basic kits and weights. It took a week to get a shipping notice, but even that was deceptive. The shipping notice said it shipped at 7am, but the subsequent tracking info said the package did not get checked in at the post office until 5pm. I placed the order on what I thought would be enough lead time to have 2 weekends to work on them with my kids before our race. Now I'm not sure I'll even have one full weekend to get it all done. RecommendedGreat selections and Super easy to order. I sent my order in on Wednesday afternoon and it was delivered just as advertised Friday afternoon. They communicated with me about my arrival time because like the procrastinator that I am I waited to long. No problem they upgraded my shipping at their cost to get it to me when I needed it. It does not matter what postal service you choose it will not be delivered till the money clears. So if you do 25.00 overnite that would be 4 days until you get your product.So 3 to 4 day wait time then it gets delivered,They also will lie about this.
I received two derby cars, (just the shaped wood) they arrived fairly quickly by USPS. I can see they were done by hand. There is no factory or mass production here. I could see a tiny bit of pencil outlining the shape and there was a tiny sliver of wood on one edge (to sand out later) that showed the authenticity of the product and made it look like it was fresh out of your garage. Beyond their products, I think a business can be judged by its customer service. For me, I ordered a car on derby monkey. It arrived and when I removed it from the box it the body of the car was (unfortunately) damaged during shipping. It happens. I emailed them through their website on a Sunday night and by Monday mid-morning had a shipping notice for the replacement with a follow up email from them apologizing,
I'm a little embarrassed, but three Derby-Monkey cars in two years led to a 3rd, 2nd and 1st place finish in the Pack for my Tiger and Webelo scouts. Simple designs and instructions meant I only had to help with the wheels.
Promised to send new car bodies because originals didn't meet my races rules...Never received them after he said he mailed them...Now he won't respond to my emails or feedback left on his website.
