Called the mail line and finally got in only to be told I have to be transferred to case management and that if their call queue is full then the system will hang up on me. Not having enough employees to handle calls should not be my problem. I am an honest person and I just want to report a change in income. They will of course tell you to do it online but their website almost never works correctly and it won’t go through anytime I try to submit. Once again not really MY problem. COME PREPARED! Pandemic has changed things. They have you call the 888-369-4777 phone line that was set up last year, so anticipate to wait like you would any call center to talk with someone. The wait times for this are around 2hrs+. Email info to DCF.WICHITAEES@KS.GOV. An interview is approximately 1 hour per person. Longer for people with more than 5 people on a case. Some need interpreters. BE PREPARED TO WAIT. Government assistance is quid pro quo - you have to give your info to get benefits. Wish there were more staff ... read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Disabled, on SSI, sent in paperwork for “annual”. Really nothing changed so nothing to update. It’s been over a month. Benefits now not available, but I never received a call or letter about my case! When I call it says there are few calls before me but I’m on hold for hours. Only for my call to finally start ringing and be answered by yet another automated message notifying me that they are having system issues and to call back then it drops my call.
