My mother took a cat to be euthanized today. The level and lack of compassion was astounding. Vet gets butt hurt if you question his judgment and get second opinion. We have twenty cats that we DID take down there....not anymore! Losing an animal is traumatic anyway without the uncaring, smart comments from the vet to go with it. Recommended* Lexington, NC, pet owners * Very impressed with Denton Animal Hospital today, and Dr. Cope, and staff. They run circles around North Davidson Vet Clinic for many reasons. You can actually make an appointment and not have to sit outside and wait in your car five hours, both times I’ve been there and has always been that way, even pre-Covid. They don’t allow appointments. Also, at Denton you can actually go in for your pet’s exam if you wear a mask. Denton will also work with Chewy etc. so you can get much better prices on p... read more

Denton Animal Hospital was scheduled to board our dogs today. We were told by the staff to drop off before noon, as they close at noon on Wednesdays. We arrived at 11:49 and they had closed early. The very least they could have done when deciding to alter their posted business hours was call us, and no one bothered doing that. I took my dog Du to an emergency vet in Voss earlier this year. Only to discover that he had 0 platelets in his blood work. I returned home a couple days later and took Du to see Dr. Cope. He followed his treatment for several months and my boy came back with flying colors. He was cured. So it was decided to take him off the prednisone. Two weeks later and we had to take him back as he wasn't feeling well again. Blood work showed low platelets again. So Dr. Cope put him back on prednisone along with 2 other meds.
