I've had fun on every visit.. – When I am in the city, I love to go here for Trivia Nights! They have Trivia Wednesdays at 8 and fro 4-7:30 they have bogo draft beers. My friends and I always have a great time, and the food is pretty good too!
Used to be a great bar, now overrun by bridge and tunnel on weekends – I used to drink here all the time, and it was a great neighborhood bar where you could play pool, and get your fill of Gaelic bartenders and waitresses. Kind of place with marred wood tables, where you could order pitchers with your friends. They used to have live Irish music some nights, maybe they still do. I don't know -- the place may be ok Sun thru Wed, but it's become horrible on weekends, overrun by the bridge and tunnel kids who seem to have taken... read more
dont expect much, expect some beer – regular beer selection couldbnt impress me. But its a nice spot for a pub. For that, my sincere appreciation. But not really an exciting bar destination.
The atmopshere is great...drink and service is fun...what friendly handsome bartenders – This bar was a hidden little treasure tucked away in the East Village. Walked by and the atmopshere inside was fun and cozy. Lots of laughs, great drinks, great Irish bar!!!!!I highly reccomend it. They threw a great New Years Party!!!
Rip off – Arrived at this pub on a Friday evening and they had no bottles of Bud! Had to have draft and it was the worst pint I've had in years. The next day, Ireland were playing Cyprus (Soccer). These guys had the cheek to charge 20 dollars on the door just to watch the game. I'm never going back!
$3 RED BULL AND VODKA's – Having eaten some Indian Food on Curry Lane recently (6th street between 2nd 1st) I happen to walk by Dempseys. On their chalkboard outside, it listed a bunch of $3 dollar happy hour specials, beer, etc.. and then I saw RED BULL. I thought, it just must be the can, NOPE, you get $3 red bull and VODKA from 4-7pm. I AM IN HEAVEN!!!! They don't serve food here, but behind the bar they have a black zip briefcase with dozens of menu's from local places that will happily deliver to the bar. The bar is big... read more
Editorial Review – Irish pub entertains with trivia nights, pool and darts; find 10 beers on tap including Killian's and Guinness.
Best trivia – Dempsey's features one of the best trivia nights of any bar in New York City -- fast-paced, funny and with good prizes ($25 bar tab for 1st place, $15 and $10 tabs for runners-up, various other goodies including videos and snacks). Very friendly, laid-back atmosphere with lots of cool, brainy, 20- and 30-ish people.
Wanna a lil bit of the Irish? – This pub/restaurant is a perfect haven to get in from the cold, have a great conversation, memorable food, and overflowing beverages! The staff is very personable, and friendly. The 'mood' is comfy and almost like you hae been there ten million times before! Great hiding spot!
