My dentist is no longer going to accept Delta Dental because they are hard to work with and slow payers - I suspect Delta Dental made some financial mistakes and they are probably going out of business. Dental Insurance that does not reimburse dentists seems like a fundamental failure.
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Despite renewing my insurance in November of last year, Delta Dental cancelled my dental insurance effective January 1, 2025. Getting a representative on the phone was difficult. When I did get someone on the phone, I asked for the same plan. Since the plan is "new", they claim they won't cover any dental work for a year. What a bunch of BS! I will be switching providers next year. 0 stars.
Representatives were extremely helpful in reinstating my policy.
Awful coverage and customer service. If you’re paying yourself, get ready for lots of fine print to deny claims. 12 month waiting period after you start paying! Cleanings and minor work is all that is covered. Look elsewhere or pay yourself (you’ll end up paying yourself anyway)!
Everyone I talk to is lovely and tries to help the best they can, but this insurance company is run so poorly it almost seems like it's some sort of scam. Problems are consistent, almost guaranteed. Even the most basic of tasks is met with technical error after technical error. Again this is no reflection of the poor people tasked to work the call center, they are wonderful and genuinely tried to help.
