Despite multiple 100+ passenger flights booked to take off before 6am, Delta doesn't staff their desk with more than 3 people before just before 5am. Plan to arrive at 3am to check bags for your 6am flight or else you'll be made to feel like it's your fault that the desk is understaffed for two hours in line.
Last minute bagage forced check in is rude. But this becomes not acceptable when the company policy forces you to pay extra for this. Once you organize not to be charged (and get rid of 2 kids toys not allowed in the plane) and they get stuck at their very own game because too many people do that, they force you. If you complain, they offer you to leave the plane. Even if they are 2h late. When service get lost forever.
Atrocious customer service through and through. Understaffed gate agents. Shareholders value the only concern. Never flying delta again
