The BEST thing we did at the Dells! My 10 year old had a blast mining and I had a blast making it into a ring! I guarantee you'll have a memorable time!
I bought 2 rings, one was supposed to not be treated. Turns out they are both dyed, meaning they both went clear. This was not made clear, and both rings are not what I wanted. One of them was carved crooked...
My son loves these mining things and this one just seemed like a money scheme. Buckets of sand and rocks were $20-150. Several larger rocks in the bucket $40 bucket we choose, but since they were so big, the time we mined was only 15 minutes whereas normally we can spend at least an hour mining at other locations, when you're truly looking for the gems. I enjoyed looking through the shop but they are a little pricey compared to other similar shops I've been in. We did do the mining and though it was fun it was way to expensive for the little bit you get in the bucket. I would leave out the semi-precious stone and replace it with more stones or bigger pieces. I did the same thing at a KOA, paid less for a smaller bag and came away with more treasures, including a geode and fossils.
