The chef was so smug. My chicken sandwich was not fully cooked and the chicken was pink. It was partially raw in the center. I let the chef know and she tried to dismiss me and tell me that the chicken was dark meal and not raw.
The restaurant itself seemed nice, and based on our brief interaction, our waitress appeared like she would have provided great service. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed before we were even seated. When we approached the hostess stand, the heavy-set hostess with brown hair made me feel as though I was bothering her simply by requesting a table. Her attitude immediately made me feel unwelcome. If you leave NOLA not having been to Delacroix, you’re missing out BIG time! Chef Wiley is an absolute stellar culinary mind, and so kind, to boot! Also - ask for Bri as your server. She is the sweetest, most attentive server you could ask for, without overdoing it. The house-made satsuma ice cream is to die for. I was a solo traveller this time but I will be bringing my partner back here! 😊
Delacroix has all the glamour of a tourist trap, but offers the down-to-earth, warm hospitality of your grandma and the culinary experience of a Michelin star chef. Get the tomato shrimp bisque—and invite me please.
We sat at the bar for drinks and apps. Great view of the river and great atmosphere. The frozen Strawberry Fields drink was wonderful, and I’m not normally big on frozen drinks.
