I had a very disappointing experience with the DeKalb Regional Medical Center Emergency Department. My 83-year-old mother was left there for 13 hours with very little attention or care. The room she was placed in was disorganized, with items scattered everywhere and what appeared to be biohazard waste on the floor, which was extremely concerning. I was a patient on Jan 6th, brought by ambulance, having a heart attack and admitted with pneumonia. I was so well taken care of. I did not know any of this until later.The EMT’s and Doctors, nurses, made me feel so safe and comfortable, I would like to thank all of them. I had a stint put in, wasn’t aware of this until later either. Thanks to all the people that made sure that I was safe…

The ambulance people got me a little better. Staff of er was nice when attending but rarely attended. I usually go to Scottsboro Highlands but recently moved closer to ft Payne. I would never have gone but I was so sick and dehydrated, and weak from a sudden stomach virus that was constant out both ends. Had to call ambulance. I thought I'd be better off going closer to home. I was way wrong. Go to Scottsboro or anywhere else
