Deep Ellum Bar is a nice change of Allston scenery. This throw back bar/restaurant is definitely a place to escape from the BU, beer swigging, collar-popping meat head crowd that Allston shares its streets with. Go here if you want some comfort food jazzed up, or to sample thevast amounts of vintage cocktail options. Good beer selection, and they have an outdoor patio if you're so inclined. Not great for first date "get to know you" conversations, as it's pretty small and gets pretty loud.
