We suddenly ran into some mechanical issues a few days after buying our campervan. This was really stressful for us, as this is also our little home on wheels. Luckily friends recommended this mechanic, Guy, as he helped us out as fast as possible and at a fair price. He was honest and keen to explain the problem. The only downside was, that communication wasn’t super proactive and we had to follow up several times - this is a really small thing though. Thank you Guy!
I personally dislike leaving negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can avoid being taken advantage of. I used to take my Ute for servicing without any issues, but everything changed over the last four months. The old Mechanic at the reception inside the container overcharged me $660 for a service, replacing parts without asking for my approval first. Unprofessional and extremely difficult to deal with. Did not communicate and attempted to upsell stuff that did not need doing. Took to another shop (far more reputable chain of mechanics) where they commended the condition of the car - especially the stuff he wanted to replace!! Consistently said he’d call me but didn’t hear from him for days after he said he would. Would not recommend - shame these small mechanics aren’t what they used to be anymore. Far from honest and upfront
