Andy ( and his crew) is one of the most talented and honest contractors I have delt with. His design and materials suggestions have been excellent. I have recommended them to my friends and neighbors.
I hired them to demolish my old rotten deck and build a nice, new composite deck in its place. From start to finish, they were wonderful to work with and I was extremely satisfied. Their workers were fast, efficient, very quiet, and managed not to disturb a fig tree I'd planted near the old deck (I was sure it would be trampled or destroyed and I'd forgotten to mention it to them, but they were extremely careful). Highly unprofessional. Strongly suggest avoiding them. There are plenty of ethical, professional deck builders out there.
I asked Deckadent for an estimate. Hired another contractor. Next thing I know someone from Deckadent Designs complained to the Lexington Building Inspection Division, reporting that I had not secured a building permit for a deck replacement constructed by a competing company. Deckadent took this action solely because I did not use them for the job and previously gave them a negative review. This was pure retaliation, the mark of a highly unprofessional business.
