I've lived with DDEB my entire life of 40yrs. I'm fifth generation. I will be the last in my family to have it as I made the decision to never have children so that I didn't pass it on. I can't imagine putting a child through what I went and continue to go through. I wish DEBRA would dedicate equal research dollars into curing DDEB as you do into juntional and RDEB. You are failing a large subset of us. FYI I have a degree in biology with and emphasis in genetics and molecular biology and currently work in LTC pharmacy.
My sweet baby girl Taylor, passed away as a result of EB. She is my butterfly angel and I’m so honored to have been her mommy, short time together but forever in my thoughts and memories. I love you so much baby girl. Thank you Debra for helping me learn of a disease and how made it extremely easy as I was going through this painful, devastating, unimaginable time in my life.
