My experience with Dr Somers has been mostly negative. She was very condescending, abrupt, and rude to me . I was experiencing stabbing lower back pains that left me doubled over in pain. I have a history of ovarian cysts. I was still experiencing the pain despite taking birth control, daily. I contacted Dr. Somers and she told me it was bowel pain, as if she knew with 100 percent certainty. I advocated for myself and she finally ordered an ultrasound. I have been a patient of Dr. Somers for years, almost 20. She is caring yet stern. Dr. Somers listens to your concerns and gives the best advice and medical treatment. It has been a pleasure and I look forward to my annual appointments. Dr. Somers is professional and personable. She performed my surgery and I received excellent care.
It saddened me to learn of Dr Somers up coming retirement. I have grown very fond of her and her beautiful bedside manner. I will truly miss her very dearly. However, I wish you much happiness as you venture into your next chapter of The life and time of Debra Somers.
I’ve been with Dr. Somers since I moved to Philadelphia in 2017. Yes she asks some questions that people do not normally think about, but I see how it could lead to whatever issue I could be having. She helped me with many issues I’ve had over the years with no judgement, which is nice after so many other doctors/OBGYN usually give that look of. It may seem like she doesn’t care but I can tell she just wants to keep each appointment that. It’s own appointment.
