Dr. Kim works at the forefront of the field, and therefore is knowledgeable about all treatment approaches. This along with her caring attitude and responsiveness has kept me stable and thriving for over twenty years.
Deborah Kim showed zero empathy to me when I had an appointment with her after experiencing a traumatic event. I felt so much worse after meeting with her. She wanted to put me on 3 different drugs long term after meeting with me for 45 minutes. This is so irresponsible and frankly, lazy. Thankfully I realized how misguided Dr. Deborah Kim was, and quickly found another psychiatrist who actually listened to what I was experiencing and offered tools and humanity, rather than heavy-hitting medications. I am picky with all my doctors and no doctor in my life has ever come close to as helpful as Dr. Kim has always been. She is so knowledgeable on treatments other doctors wouldn’t even think to try. If this says anything, I am a single mom currently living paycheck to paycheck and still will not consider leaving Dr. Kim’s office to see someone in network. If you have not had success with other psychiatrists or are just looking for someone with experience beyond the average psychiatrist you should absolutely give her a try!
