The Carmina Burana Concert as well as the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto was beyond magnificent! The contest winner, Shuya Zheng played a spectacular performance, from memory. despite being a senior in high school. The VanGuard Chorus, directed by Kevin Dewey, the Children's Choir directed by Vanessa El-Zein, the orchestra along with the soloists, directed by Steven Jarvi, all received a well deserved standing ovation. The Dearborn Symphony has a superb sound, beautiful concert hall with great acoustics, and is easy/safe to get in/out of. I prefer it over the Detroit Symphony. It is a much better value, too.
This gem is a must see. Director Steven Jarvi and these musicians are a joy to hear.
