They wouldnt let me in
I have chosen to be admitted to Deakin Private Hospital five times for mental health treatment and my experience each time has been excellent. Dr Vinod Chopra was my inpatient psychiatrist for most of those admissions and I also choose to see him privately as an outpatient. I have bipolar disorder and under his expert care over the last year I have gone from rapid cycling with episodes of psychotic mania and severe depression to stable mood. All staff are brilliant, it's so calming. From front of house, nursing and Doctors. The care you receive is flawless. Cleaning staff always. Saying hello. The food is simply brilliant. Not hospital food at all. It's varied and healthy. Plus kitchen staff are always happy and will do their best to accommodate special needs. Overall Deakin Private exceeds all my requirements. The facilities and the psychologists are fantastic but the Psychiatrists are absolute morons. Tiffany and Carmen are absolutely golden, loads of empathy and fantastic at their job. They stand in starc contrast to the doctors in the hospital. Dr Kumar misdiagnosed me, I asked for a second opinion and he told me "I'm the best diagnosing psychiatrist in Canberra I'm definitely correct", when I attempted to explain to Dr Kumar why his diagnosis wasn't possibly correct he told me that I was essentially lying and couldn't possibly... read more
