I was a patient at Deconess in the ER last October 2024, seeking treatment for suicidal ideation as a post-9/11 veteran with PTSD. Unfortunately, I was treated roughly by the nursing staff, who showed no interest in understanding my situation or utilizing de-escalation techniques. Instead, they restrained me to a bed, causing pain to my arm, and administered a chemical restraint without due care.
