I recently went to De La Tierra for my 4th or 5th time. The food is consistently delicious, beautifully plated, and the service was very attentive. The atmosphere, on the other hand, was uncomfortable. There was just one other table w a crying infant, and the lighting was so bright! Service was… odd. Food was just ok. We made a dinner reservation, but were still seated in the breakfast area. The server was a bit odd, he stood unnecessarily close to us but was also dismissive and short at times. Would not recommend even if staying at the resort. Go to Lamberts down the street instead. Vegetarian options were very limited.
Absolutely stunning dining area with thoughtfully prepared cuisine.
Unfortunately we never got to try the food because after being seated by the hostess, who did not seem to know what she was doing, no server ever came by our table. After waiting about ten minutes we left and had an amazing meal at one of the actual restaurants in town. We couldn’t even find anyone at this place seemingly in charge to complain to. The staffing seemed like a bunch of kids got together to “play” restaurant.
