Had to give a star so my comment would post.... Save your time, money and YOUR PET and travel to MedVet in Metairie instead please!!! Brought my older yorkie in because she wouldn't close her mouth and was pawing at it. Without xrays and after "his exam" he told us that her jaw was broken and we should consider putting her down. After discussing with my husband there we went ahead and paid 600.00 for a shot that had pain medication in it and left. Our puppy was sick for 3 days, we not being able to see anyone, we brought her to de la houssaye after a friend recommended him for emergency care. We brought her in and found it was parvo, he was so informative and caring. Very thorough in care and explanation. He took her right away, she was in his care for 3 days and has been brought back amazing. Acting has to was before the symptoms started it’s like a whole new dog. The veterinarian answered the phone himself and seen my furbaby within 30 mins on a sun afternoon. He made sure my baby felt at peace before his departure. I'll forever be grateful for him. I never write reviews but this veterinarian deserves this. I thank you so much. Hes the only emergency veterinarian in bayou region.
This poor baby was found in my back yard this morning with a hook through its mouth , I tried helping it but I had no idea what I was doing, I called Dr. De La Houssaye and he seen me immediately, in under 5 minutes he helped this turtle, and it was hook free! Couldn’t thank him enough!!! All this was done in the pouring rain and it shows such compassion towards animals which is a beautiful thing ! 10/10 highly recommended!!
Please don't bring your animal here they overcharge and don't do the best for your pet. They will push you to bring your animal for extra visits and extended stay as opposed to actually doing what your pet needs. After spending THOUSANDS we had to go to another veterinarian that actually gives a damn about animals. PLEASE don't make the mistake we did we took our animal here even though we were advised against it because they were closer to us. BIG MISTAKE.
