RecommendedBought their lightweight carbon trekking pole at the store this week and it is great I have possibly torn tendons in my knee from a water crossing fall last year and have only been able to make it 5 miles this year before having to listen to my knee. the Lightweight Carbon Trekking pole took a lot of stress off my knee and prevented me from falling and further injuring it. it also is light enough it did not tire my hand or wrist which suffers from carpal tunnel. would highly recommend this product.
The Day Hiker has outstanding values in outdoor accessories. They apparently source a lot of products from less known manufacturers, so the prices on most items are a fraction of similar items you'd see at NOC (for example.) It's a very small store and they have no tech items such as GoPros or GPS devices or deer cams. What they do have is great selections on casual shirts, small outdoors must-haves such as waterproof matches and such items, maps and books, etc. An always changing variety here... always interesting to browse... read more

My favorite shop in Gatlinburg. They sell these delicious Bourbon bars that are absolutely wonderful. Great selection of hiking gear and really cool shirts upstairs. We stop in here every year. Lots of fun!

Lots of useful hiking gear & accessories.
My husband and I both have foot pain and we went into the store yesterday and they were so informative in helping us pick out some new Chaco sandals! The gentleman was extremely patient with me as I was trying to decide which pair to get! My heel and ankle pain is almost completely gone already!!Great store and we got a great deal!
