I had been going to Dr Schimmel for years (out of network) and driving 45 min to him until I discovered thru my insurance UPMC that this office is conducting what is referred to as “balanced billing” and not even submitting procedures done on me w/ coding to my insurance and trying to make me pay out of pocket!! Complete fraud!! Imagine how many other patients (out of network they are ripping off for their own greed. Wonderful staff, new Dr is very pleasant, caring and compassionate. I am very impressed with him. Makes Dr Shimmels retirement a lot easier.
I have been a patient of Dr. Schimmel's practice for around 30 years . I have stayed with his practice, even when due to numerous insurance changes, I could have gone to another provider who was "In Network" and saved some money. For me, it was an easy decision. I have never had a less than excellent experience/procedure there. I have never had an interaction with anyone there that was less than patient, kind, caring and totally professionally competent. Dr. Schimmel and his staff are everything you could ever want in a dentist. Caring, sensitive, professional, incredibly skilled. They helped me out of a terrible dental situation resulting from going to a sub par provider. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. I am beyond thankful for them.
