I've been taking guitar lessons from Dave for 6 years now, and I highly, highly recommend him as a teacher for any style of music I can think of. I recommend taking in-person guitar lessons with Dave Head. In addition to his mastery of the instrument and friendly teaching style, learning guitar with Dave has a number of other benefits that you won't find with other teachers. Dave is well-connected with local musicians and facilitates networking between students. I started taking lessons with David about 3 years ago. He is a great experienced teacher and amazing musician. I never learned an instrument growing up and was close to middle age and wanted to learn something but I wanted to be somewhat serious so I found David for lessons. For the first year or so I asked a lot of basic questions frequently and he always took the time to explain about music theory, guitars and gear, whatever I asked. I've been taking lessons with David for about 2 1/2 years in his studio and have improved dramatically as a direct result. I have taken lessons from other teachers, both online and in person, and David is by far the best for several reasons. First, in our lessons we generally work by learning songs--not the songs he wants to teach, the songs I want to learn.
