I am a licensed clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. I'm the Director of the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training Program and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine. I'm on the faculty of the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center.

Dr. Goldberg is a wonderful psychologist. I feel quite lucky that he had an opening when I was first seeking therapy. He will sit with you through very difficult stuff. He is not afraid of your pain and helps you understand it, move through it, and towards what matters. He is a very accepting and nonjudgmental person. He is patient, but he will push you to grow when the time is right. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Goldberg is amongst the finest individuals I have had the opportunity to meet, both on a professional and personal level. I have had the "need" to pursue assistance with some areas of my life and this has included four or five different therapists.
