Dr. Altman is a very caring doctor. I was misdiagnosed for 5 and a half years. He did not give up trying to find out what was wrong with me. After two weeks of visiting him several times he diagnosed me with Lyme disease.
Wow! Reading all these comments only reassures me that this so called Dr and his staff are extremely unprofessional,rude,and unsanitary ,he made false accusations ,misdiagnosed me on several accusations, would never listen to me when i was having certain concerns. I have been a patient of Dr Altman for over 5 years and he is the most helpful, generous, professional Doctor I have EVER had and I am 46 years old. Sadly, all of the people complaining below are coming down off of prescription meds. I know FOR A FACT that he and his staff have helped SO many people over the years, myself included. I have know Dr. Altman to go out of his way to help all kinds of people, from all walks of life. Hard to find a good Doctor these days.....You just have.
I too have had a similar experience with these two. But what you can do is google "suboxone doctors" in your area. I switched to Dr Stark and he is a much better Dr but he is cash only. But there is a Dr Lundburg in Oroville who takes cmsp and medi cal. I am glad other people have come to find out their scam they have working. And yes they will get theirs in the end. Karma will find us all. I hope these comments will help others to avoid wasting their time with Dr Altman and his disrespectful staff.
If I could have selected 0 stars I would have. One star is too many. I could go on. Mary Ellen is a dimwit with a cracker jack credential. Her "counseling" consists of her talking on the phone with other people while you sit there waiting to be "counseled". The biggest waste of time and my insurances money. A gross misuse of state insurance. She doesn't know the first thing about "counseling" and I don't know how she got certified. I've never been treated as poorly by a physician in my life as I have been by these two quack jobs. Very unprofessional and borderline sexually harassing. Very unorganized and non compassionate. Was a patient for over a year and my insurance lapsed so I got my insurance back on track and set up payment plan. when I went for last appointment they disregarded our payment plan and demanded full payment of $450 or no more suboxone. Lost all respect for this man – I had gone to this doctor for several years; yes he can be very rude. Makes sexual advances and is scattered in his thoughts, half the time I think he is stoned out of his mind. I agree with the post above, the head nurse that he has working for him needs to pull her head out of her back side. Doctor has given me more then 100 trigger point injections and even after asking to have my blood work done to check cortisone levels he tells me that I am fine. Good Doctor/Bad Staff-IE:Nurse/Councelor First of all, I must say that I think Dr. Altman is a Good Dr. He can be very rude at times. Seems to have good days and bad days.But The fact that I would not reccomend him to anybody has nothing to do with him, because he is a really smart man and an awesome doctor!
