After a previously failed attempt at bariatric surgery—where, on the day of surgery, less than 20 minutes before the procedure was scheduled to begin, the anesthesiologist refused to move forward due to concerns about my low blood oxygen levels—my surgeon directed me to find a pulmonary specialist at Weill Cornell.
