Just asking for honesty. I bought a wood base (for a stone table I have) from David Alan Collections in Solana Beach today. I like the base although when I asked why the base was so pricey, I was told it cost upwards to $300 a day just in labor to make them in-house, and I was purchasing that level of in-house craftsmanship. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed the “made in Indonesia” sticker. Is it really necessary to lie to justify the price?
Beautiful store with unique wooden furniture pieces! The owner was very personable, kind and recommended options based on my needs.
Some really tremendous pieces! I like all of the pieces, both old and new, from far off places, but I LOVE the original tables that they make on-site. Some of the wood slabs are just mind blowing. The people are super friendly, and happy to either leave you alone to wander around the museum-like store, or answer all of your questions- whichever you prefer. Cool cool spot!
I've had a handful of live edge custom furniture pieces made. This is the place for it. Great quality and excellent service. And an incredible option of slabs to choose from. You select your wood slap, and they will consult with you about design, legs, stain and finish, etc, and make you the custom piece that you want. And the workmanship is meticulous. They finish the slabs in-house. Highly recommend.
