I have had two hiatal hernia and fundoplication surgeries at Duke. I’m now having pain ans it feels like the hernia has again moved into my diaphragm. Since my previous doctor left Duke I was referred to Dr. Leiman. When I called for an appointment (September 2024) I was given an appointment for October 2025. I was notified yesterday (8/5/25). That he had to reschedule my appointment and I couldn’t see him until June 2026!!! How are patients supposed to follow up if doctors keep leaving and no one takes on their patients??
Dr. Leiman was the kind of man you can read instantly. Weak. Careless. Pretending to be something he’s not. I watched him the entire time—his shallow breathing, the lazy way his eyes drifted past me, already finished with me before I’d even spoken. He said I should be admitted. I told him I needed to take my wife and two children home first. Two small children don’t belong in a place like this, I told him.
