Extremely pleased with my service at Dave's. Brought in my 04' Yamaha PWC's for service on one and repair one the other. The service (oil,plugs,anti freeze, grease,etc.) was below the cost I have had at the dealership that sold them to me (after they said their customers are their friends !) and done very well I know because I check behind Dave on everything. So, I have had a terrible time with Daves, I ask them to rebuild carbs, replace fuel lines, and tune it up. The motor is 16 years old, and I don't want to have trouble while on the water. It has not run right since! Took it back several times, and still runs rough. 1'st place, they charged a way to much, and secondly didn't do what I wanted! WARNING, do not take your boat to daves marine in Garner NC. terrible customer service and terrible work. I took my boat there 2 months ago bc it was running hot and running rough. They charged me the 127 diagnostic fee to figure out the problem, 4 weeks later they finally told me it was the impeller and it was going to cost i think around 400 to replace it, which they already did without asking me. i picked up the boat and they told me if it was still running rough that i could bring it back. i took it out on the water the ... read more
The Daves did a very thorough job on my 1995 15 HP Merc outboard. Nobody ever posts positive things, only complaints. If they weren't good, they wouldn't be swamped with work. Dave even called me when my motor was ready. I'd recommend them to a friend. The 2 boat places here in Wilson didn't even want to be bothered with the job. Bud D.
Dave's marine service said my boat was good to go after $2000 of work my boat ran like sh*t! I guess it was good to pay the bill and take to a reputable boat dealer! Would never use them or recommend them. Save your money and go elsewhere!
My Boat Was Not Repaired! – First of all let me say that I thought being factory certified would put Dave's Marine Services LLC above the rest, but I was wrong. They must have been certified in something other than marine repair services. This is how my situation is: I own a 1994 Four Winns Horizon 210 with the 5.8 Cobra engine. My boat was running fine (35-45 mph with no problem) except with a little tapping noise in the engine. Another self described "mechanic. All engine repair work come with a guaranteed warranty, it says so on the invoice. If it ain't running right and its' "warrantied" why take it to another shop? P.S. No one ever touched your "wiring" we replaced your lifters. Our mechanic had forty hours on this job feel free to go give someone else $3,400.00 next time. Oh yeah no one works on Cobra in the triangle! GL
