Brought in an early 2000 Ford Super Duty stuck on defrosters. Assumed it was a broken actuator since the vacuum pump was replaced only a year ago. Was charged $179 for a diagnostic. They told the vacuum pump was bad and was quoted $331 for a new one plus $90 for labor. I know it’s a $100 part and a 5 minute switch so I picked the truck up to do it myself.
