I have been shopping at the DAV most of my life and enjoyed bartering and speaking with the cashiers. Lately, the middle aged African American man in charge of intake in the back has been a new addition to the team and on a power trip about price and has really made the environment hostile. I was browsing through the furniture area when I over heard a senior veteran ask if he could negotiate a price on a room divider. A mature African American who said he was the manager replied in a condescending manner to the senior and said "If your military no negotiations." Senior turns around and said "Ever since you took over the store people are complaining on how you treat others" Manager guy just laughed. I believe you should treat people with respect period. What do you think?
They must be smoking crack while sorting stuff for sale in the back because there is no rhyme or reason to the pricing. A 15 year old Harbor Freight drill? Priced higher than what HF sells new ones for now. Old 1st generation ipod speaker that has corrosion in the battery department? They'll probably try and get twenty bucks for it.
