This was my second stay at this cabin, and it was the perfect place to get away from San Diego for a few days. The cabin is incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. It’s close to Lake Cuyamaca and downtown Julian, but once you’re at the cabin, you feel miles away from everything. The cedar hot tub was the perfect way to start and end each stress-free day. A great place to relax and recharge, I'll definitely be back

Absolutely epic. There is no other place to Book in Julian! Stop your search, this place is it! I own a 5 star luxury travel concierge, have traveled to hundreds of Airbnbs and luxury properties, villa’s, and hotels all over the world, YET THE AMBIANCE and thought put into the guest stay here is second to none. You can really tell Aubrey (the owner and property manager) has put her heart and soul into this place. I wish I could give Aubrey and Dark Moon Chalet TEN STARS!!!! From the start, Aubrey was a communicative, generous, and kind host. While we encountered an unexpected snowstorm on our drive up the mountain, Aubrey was available every step of the way to help us get to our accommodation safely despite the lateness of the hour. My wife and I truly enjoyed our getaway to Julian and the Dark Moon Chalet. Aubrey was super helpful and responsive. The place is absolutely gorgeous and their Terra Kaffe coffee maker was an unexpected bonus. The wraparound deck is fantastic for enjoying AM coffee and a lovely reading spot during the day. One important note: If you don't like stairs, this place is not for you. There's a long set of stairs up to the daylight basement/game room. Then another set of stairs to the main living area. The Dark Moon Chalet was the perfect backdrop for my 39th birthday weekend. We had a full house—including my mother, wife, brother, best friends, a 3-year-old, and two dogs—and the space accommodated us all beautifully. We loved the location; it’s only a 4-minute drive to Lake Cuyamaca, where we enjoyed a family hike and some playground tag with my nephew.
