NOT OPEN 24 HOURS – This place is not open 24 hours. If you go there at 2 am you will be sorely disappointed to find it closed.
Great place to eat and miss the Car Hop's – I was one of the last car hop's back when I was 18 years old. Made alot of money back than but what it is like now I am pretty sure I would make a killing now day's being a Car Hop. To bad I am to old
Cool Place, Great Pancakes – I tried Dan's for the first time this weekend and definitely give the place a big thumbs up. It's just as cool looking inside as it is from the street. We were there for breakfast and the service was pleasant, the food came promptly, and we were well-taken care of on the strong-but-fresh (just the way I like it) coffee refills. I ordered pretty basic, pancakes and scrambled eggs, and was pleased with both, the pancakes in particular were perfection. My friend had a more complicated vegetarian-Gre... read more
great atmosphere – we hadn't been to columbus often and were just driving around to find a place to eat. as luck would have it we found dan's. a wonderful place to eat...great food, the waitresses were the sweetest and friendliest i've come across in forever. a truly enjoyable experience. we WILL be back soon.
Terrible service, avg food – Sad to say with such a great looking interior that the service is the opposite of great. Rude servers, God forbid you ask for anything like jelly, or more sweet and low! Food is just avg at best. Hostile service all three visits. What a shame.
Impressed! – Ok, so I was expecting a real drive in, and, initially, was a bit disappointed that we were going to have to eat inside, BUT, Dan's Drive In proved to be excellent. Yes, it has a 50s diner feel, but there isn't a portrait of James Dean nor a neon Coca Cola sign anywhere! How refreshing! I was surprised by the extensive menu - something for everyone! - but knew I was going to have to try the 1 pound 'Big Mouth Burger'! Holy crap! It was HUGE! The fries were good, but the onion rings were a rip-off at 5 for $2. I ... read more
Ambiance – My reuben sandwich was one of the best I have ever eaten. The waitress was extremely friendly and personable. The best part of Dan's Drive-In, however, is the ambiance. I found myself taken back to a 1950's diner, hanging out with my friends, and drinking a soda. It's a fun place to eat - a great break from the sterile norm.
A no-nonsense, smoker-friendly roadside diner. – The Scene A longtime favorite late-night hangout, Dan's Drive-In is one of the only independently-owned 24-hour diners in town. Wedged between the Brewery District and the industrial south side of the city, the restaurant's two dining rooms have few frills but plenty of character. Booths are covered in red vinyl and kitschy, framed images of Elvis, Madonna (circa "Lucky Star") and famous moments in NASA history hang on the walls. Cigarette smoke hangs thick in the air, as does... read more
