When an unexpected accident happened at work, I was referred to Dr. Dan at the Minnesota Spine Institute. The staff were great, making me feel comfortable through out the entire process. The procedure itself went smoothly, and now my pain is far more tolerable and manageable than it was before. I certainly do not plan to go back but if I had to I would choose Dr. Dan!
**6 MONTH UPDATE** Unfortunately I felt the need to update my review as I just got home from a major Anterior & Posterior Interbody Lumbar Fusion (L5/S1) revision surgery done by another surgeon. I don’t mean to post this to discredit anyone or to speak out in bad faith, but more to help others who may find themselves in a similar situation as to what I was. Hanson did my disc removal stuff and I could not have asked for a better team. Mid 20s is already scary and to find out a blown disc is making life harder? It’s hard to swallow and it’s hard to process. He helped me understand the importance of my surgery, how it was going to be done and made sure I was heard and taken care of. Anyone having any major back pain and want a second opinion? Call up Hanson! He is the best I have ever met! Forever grateful for him!
I had been having problems with back pain for several years which worsened last summer with symptoms especially in my left leg. Determined to avoid back surgery I had physical therapy, worked on core strengthening, had a TENS unit , an injection and tried acupuncture. I did a search for minimally invasive back surgery and found Dr Hanson at the Spine Institute. Dr. Hanson was the 5th second opinion I received. My first surgery with another surgeon didn't work. Dr. Hanson did a fabulous job! I'm feeling so much better now. I have my life back!
