After a nice afternoon at Buena Park, we stumbled upon this Korean spot nearby, and the menu photos—think giant octopus hot pot and towering fruit shaved ice—had us sold before we even walked in. Such a great Korean food find in OC! Everything we ordered looked and tasted amazing. The braised black cod was the highlight—the fish was incredibly tender and fell apart easily, while the sweet and spicy sauce was perfect with rice. Damee Korean Restaurant seriously exceeded my expectations. I had been craving Korean-style braised black cod for the longest time, and I’m so happy I finally found a place in Buena Park that hits the spot—maybe even better than what I’ve had in Koreatown! I used to love this restaurant, but it seems like things have changed under the new management. I’m not sure if the woman who served us was the owner, but the experience felt a little awkward from the beginning. When she greeted us, she stared at me without really paying attention to showing us to our table.
