Quickest way to put it is - he is a trustworthy guy that will try his best to fix the issue and not overcharge you. We had vehicle issues on the way to jasper and limped it to his shop and left it for a couple days while we rented a vehicle and came back for ours a couple days later. Its a situation you dont really want to be in, especially with someone you dont know. Perfect oppourtunity for someone to overcharge, do work that isnt necassary, and upsell you on stuff. Fantastic service from DAM mechanics. I called him at 8am about my broken CV joint he had the parts ordered while I was on the phone, shut the shop down to go get them himself, had my truck into the shop by 11 and by 1pm I was back on the road. Quick service and a great price for services rendered. 10/10 if I lived in Hinton I’d bring my truck here for any issues I had. Can’t recommend enough.
I had a check engine light come on driving in from Jasper. Called and Dennis said to come in even thought it was close to the end of the day. Read the code and talked me through what I needed to do to fix it myself. He is so well experienced and I would absolutely recommend. He has been a mechanic for over 40 years and is very very knowledgeable.
We called Dennis after getting a false diagnosis from an auto shop in banff quoting $1000. The “broken” part would have left us stranded on the road for another week waiting for parts, and 2 tows later we arrived at Dennis’ shop. He came in on a Sunday to help us and let us watch the work he was doing to learn what was really going on. Within minutes he was able to diagnose that the part was not actually broken and just a simple out of round brake making some noise.
