I went at 11:30 am on Friday 3/21 (well within posted open hours) and it was clearly closed. The lights were off, the door locked, but oddly the sign was flipped to "Open." Additionally, when peering inside, I noticed the drink cooler in the front was complete empty. Is this even a real restaurant? I will visit again in the future and update. Update: Definitely never open.

Dakshin on Clark is a hidden gem for South Indian eats in the Loop. Dropped about $30, got the Chicken 65, Masala Dosa, and a Mango Lassi. The Chicken was crispy with a nice kick, and the dosa was spot-on, crispy outside, flavorful potato filling inside. The lassi was thick and refreshing. Service was quick, and the vibe is low-key. Perfect spot for a hearty lunch without breaking the bank.

Dakshin Indian Restaurant is hands-down one of the best Indian spots in the city! I got the chicken biryani and the paneer tikka masala, and both were packed with bold flavors and just the right amount of spice. The garlic naan was fresh out of the oven—soft, buttery, and perfect for scooping up that rich masala sauce. Spent around $25, and the portions were solid—definitely enough for leftovers.
