Dahn Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines the ancient wisdom of Ki energy training with modern techniques to maximize the brain's functioning. It is rooted in the rich history of an ancient Asian mind-body practice, Sun Do, and in the wisdom of the Chun Bu Kyung, a 9000 year old text teaching truths about and through Ki energy. From a modern perspective, Sun Do could be considered a way of healthful living that used types of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and martial arts for training the body and mind. Relaxed and Positive – I like the positive mix of people from different backgrounds and conditions. The instructors were always encouraging me whatever my level. This has reall helped me gain more harmony and peace in my whole mind body and life.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Dahn yoga classes concentrate on yoga fitness, breathwork and meditation. Intensive master class includes weekend seminar and weekly trainings.
Focuses on essence more than technique – I've tried a lot of things before, but the thing I like about this place is they don't seem to be stuck on the technical side of things. Most places I've been to, the postures or technicalities seem to be the main focus. Here although they have a system and techniques, it seems like you can adjust it to your condition without worrying about "am I doing it wrong" or what not. They emphasize that the most important thing is feeling your body, not trying to stick yourself into some postu... read more
Life saving yoga program After a lifetime of bad habits, in 2001 I got severely ill. After not being able to work because of a series of viral infection problems, I looked for a yoga/fitness program that I could really commit to and that would be flexible in meeting my schedule. I found all that and more at the Dahn Center. I've been a member for over 5 years. 3 at the Torrance center and now 2 years in Glendale. The masters and other members are some of the most supportive and loving people I've known. I've now been basical... read more

Sketchy – I moved to a different part of LA so started looking into yoga studios in my new area. After reading the only citysearch review on Dahn Yoga, "Nice but Costly" I checked out Dahn's website & calculated that the cost per class would be comparable to the other places I was considering. I called them about taking a class for the first time, thinking they would offer to let me do so for either a single-class fee or even for free (many studios offer this.) I was told I could either try a class or come in for an "energy ... read more
Nice but Costly – Staff is very nice, peaceful atmosphere, emphasis on brain respiration, it's a blend of yoga and other disciplines, like Tai-Chi. Improve of eating habits and adds lots of flexibility. Improves your attitude 100%. The only drawback may be the cost. Need to make it more affordable to the public
